Controlador Surface Type Cover Filter Device



Sometime within the last 1-2 weeks my Surface Pro's type cover stopped working. Device Manager shows a failed 'type cover' device under Other Devices (with an exclamation point on it). I don't think it's a hardware issue because if I hold down Power and Volume Up to get into the UEFI screen then my Type Cover keyboard arrows work fine to navigate the menus.

Surface Type Cover Filter Device Drivers Available: Operating System Driver Provider Driver Version; Download Driver: Windows XP (64 bit) Microsoft: 2.0.51.0 (8/01/2013). Right click on the unknown device and select “Update Driver Software.” Click on “Let me pick from a list of device drivers” and select Keyboard and then click next. Select HID keyboard device and click Finish. If you see an Unknown device in Device Manager, repeat this process with that device too. Right-click Surface Type Cover Filter Device. Select Uninstall OK. Restart your Surface. It'll automatically download and install the Surface Type Cover driver the next time you connect to the Internet.

  1. I have tried doing a restart, hard restart, uninstalling the existing keyboard drivers and clicking on scan for hardware changes, but the surface type cover filter device doesn't come back.
  2. The package provides the installation files for Microsoft Surface 3 Type Cover Integration Driver version 1.1.363.0. If the driver is already installed on your system, updating (overwrite-installing) may fix various issues, add new functions, or just upgrade to the available version.

  1. Per https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ubleshoot-your-surface-type-cover-or-keyboard I've tried uninstalling it and letting the driver re-install, but it just beeps continuously until I disconnect the type cover and then the Device Manager shows the same Other Devices failed device.
  2. I also tried going to Microsoft Download Center and re-installing the latest Surface Pro drivers software. No change.
  3. I also tried System Restore to go back to a system version from a couple days ago. No change.

Besides going to a Microsoft Store are there any other suggestions? Has anyone else had a Type Cover issue after a recent Windows Update?
